Reaching for your goals
The concept around embracing challenges is where my mind has been living recently.
I watched a few episodes of the Netflix Series ‘The Playbook’, which features insight from successful coaches. Each episode is full of wonderful little thought nuggets! The stories and concepts are applicable to so many aspects of so many lives.
The takeaway I’ve been dwelling on is the idea that life is not supposed to be easy. We need challenge, criticism, and adversity to drive us to be better.
We are never finished growing. Even when we reach a goal we’ve set for ourselves, we now have the challenge of pushing that goal higher. We have to compete with our own mind, body, and soul.
When you think you’ve reached the top, it’s time to reach further.
We have to continue to reach and evolve each and every day of our lives.
good enough?
My son recently asked me, “Mom, do you think it’s possible for things to get better? Don’t you think what we have now [computers, phones, cars, etc] are good enough? How can people possibly make them better?”
I feel that it is our human obligation to evolve and grow even when things are going well. Not just with technology. We need to grow as a society, we have to grow personally, we have to grow spiritually… The day we decide to settle in a comfort zone is the day we stop contributing our full selves to humanity.
We have to responsibly push our minds, bodies, and souls to leave this world better for the future.
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!
We all know that there are many paths in life. It’s perfectly OK to shift as we go. The ultimate goal is to feel fulfilled, to feel as though we are positively contributing, and that we are HAPPY!
When we hit a roadblock, we have choices! We can choose to find a way to break through it and keep pressing forward, or we can choose to take a detour. Sometimes the universe is telling us that we need to pivot to a different path… and there is NOTHING wrong with that!
The ONLY wrong choice is to sit down and stop moving!
Challenges are Growth Opportunities. Embrace them. Accept them. Allow those moments to make you stronger.
