Super Bowl kicks off the Spring Real Estate Market!
Are you ready for some football?!
Here in the Philadelphia area we are all buzzing with excitement over this year's Super Bowl! There is an overwhelming sense of pride throughout our region. From 1 day old to 100 years old, Philadelphian's are draped in their green.
The city of Philadelphia is made up of many different neighborhoods, each with their own personality. Our communities are filled with genuine heart and respect for our home. Although we all identify with our own little niche, we are united in Brotherly Love!
Football is the most popular sport in the United States. The National Football League boasts the highest attendance of any sporting event in the world. During football season, each Sunday is a major event. Families and friends gather to eat chicken wings, drink beer, and scream at their televisions. The season culminates with what has become a national holiday to celebrate the championship game. The Super Bowl ranks as one of the most watched sporting events in the world and is truly an amazing show!
As crazy as it may sound to some, football brings people together. It gives an excuse to socialize and support a common dream. It's an emotional experience featuring both excitement and disappointment that they can share as a community. Fans are invited to be a part of the team. Like the team, true fans will spend the entire week mentally preparing for the next game.
In my household, my husband becomes an analyst during football season. Studying statistics has become a hobby. I don't personally understand how one can be so entertained to watch and listen to the same conversations, reviewing the same games day in and day out. Although I may not be the one who studies every play, I do enjoy game day! We always have a spread of snacks, the music going all day long, everyone gets their team sweatshirts on, and we teach our kids about the game. It truly is a family bonding experience that we all look forward to.
If you haven't already picked up on my point, football season is for football. All other activity takes a back seat... including buying and selling homes!
In the real estate world, weekends are for house hunting and open houses. When Americans are preoccupied by their love for such an addicting spectator sport, they just don't have time to focus on their housing needs.
Once the fireworks settle and the hangovers cure, the country takes a collective deep breath and set their sights toward the spring!

Even though we will have plenty of winter left before spring actually arrives, preparing to buy or sell a home in the spring market begins in February. If you wait too much longer you may miss out on the surge of housing activity that occurs in many areas throughout the United States.
I hope everyone was able to savor the entertainment of Super Bowl week with all the excitement, the food, the parties, and the company of family and friends. I hope that regardless of your team, you were able to enjoy the game, the commercials, and the half time show! Now in Philadelphia we still have a huge celebration on Thursday to congratulate our first ever Super Bowl Champions!
But whenever you come off your football high, it's time to give your Realtor a call!
Home sellers should start preparing their home for sale. Home buyers should begin exploring neighborhoods.
Football will always be an exciting and family friendly entertainment in our country. Once the big game comes to a close and the champions are crowned, it's time to put football on hold until next season and focus on other aspects of life... such as real estate! Let's get to work!
